Summer Art Camp Week Three Highlights

We ran the third week of our Summer Art camps from August 19 to August 23 in Kitchener.

Every camp is a unique story!

This time, we mostly had a group of little kids - many new campers, our art class students, and kids from the previous camps.

We were happy to see familiar faces and meet new ones!

The theme of the week was Summer Travels.

As I mentioned, each camp is completely different and we adjusted to a group of kids.

This group was very energetic and loved playing games. They made friends immediately and they were able to entertain themselves without any help!

Every morning we went to the Victoria Park playground - their favorite place where they were able to run and play numerous games forever! Water and snacks were the only things they needed. Kids didn't ask about art, coming back inside, or lunch:).

We usually have a drawing class in the park but this time we had only 1 class outside. It's very hard to focus for small kids when there are a lot of opportunities around them to run and play:).

So we adjusted our schedule and did a drawing class inside, then went to the playground as a reward for hard work.

After the morning walk, we have lunch and half-day campers leave or come.

Our energetic group even was not interested in lunch! When they came back inside after running on the playground they immediately were ready to play "Cross Canada" :).

It was their favorite game, they could play forever.

However, our camp is an art camp, it's supposed to draw and paint :).

After lunch, we had a painting class where we worked with different paints, techniques, and topics.

Wednesday is a special day to create invitations for families and friends for our Art exhibition at the end of the week.

One day we were lucky when in Victoria Park some events were happening and kids got face painting and henna. The campers were so organized and patient to wait in line.

On Friday, we usually do a team project. All the kids already know each other and work in a team perfectly. This time, despite of our energetic group, the situation was the same! They were very focused, interacted with each other nicely and did great teamwork!

Finally, our week was finished with the Art exhibition when kids were proud to present their artworks to family and friends.

It was such an amazing experience together!

Thanks a lot all kids and parents for attending our Art camp!

Thanks to staff and volunteers for all their great work!
