Summer Art Camp Week Two Highlights

We ran the second week of our Summer Art camps from July 22 to July 26 in Kitchener.

Every camp is a unique story!

This time, we mostly had a group of older kids and some of them participated last year.

It was so great to see our campers again!

The theme of the week was Summer Adventures.

That's why, we focused on drawing and painting various fun summer activities.

For example, we drew scenes of kayaking, fishing, swimming, etc.

Every scene required a person drawing so campers learned figure proportions and body movement positions. It was challenging!

However, our art instructors explained every step simply and clearly and all the kids did a great job!

Almost all the drawing classes we had outside in beautiful Victoria Park after playing on a playground.

Yes, older kids 11-12 years old still loved to run and climb on a playground.

So everyone had a lot of fun and exercise.

One day we sketched on location. Some campers followed the art instructor's demo and some decided to sketch other sceneries.

After lunch we usually stayed inside, afternoons were pretty hot and we had a lot of to do.

Every afternoon there was a painting class with acrylic or watercolor. Campers created night scenes - sky with stars in the woods, campfire, and sunset in the mountains. One day we learned how to draw a snapping turtle and paint in watercolor.

Campers also had art games, fun activities, and free draw time.

On Wednesday, we created a beautiful invitation for parents to invite them to our final art exhibition at the end of the week.

That's why Friday was a special day not only because of the exhibition.

In the afternoon, campers formed groups to work on team projects. They already made friends and enjoyed drawing together.

At 4 pm, our doors were open for families and friends. All the kids were proud of presenting their creations and of course, at the end, they took everything home.

It was such an amazing experience together!

Thanks a lot all kids and parents for attending our Art camp!

Thanks to staff and volunteers for all their great work!

We hope to see you again - in our Art classes or next Art camps!
