Service Description

Fall Art Classes 2024 for Teens 11-12+ years old in Kitchener. “Drawing Basics: Foundations in Art” The Fall session includes 8 art classes. The winter session will continue the Fall session and we will focus on People drawing - Figure and Portrait if you are interested. This session includes: - different materials and techniques: graphite, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, liners and markers - white and black paper - shape and volume - composition - line drawing - shading techniques - light, shadows, highlights, reflection - linear perspective - contrast - different topics to draw: still lives, drapery, cityscape, trees, cat portrait. This course is designed to equip beginners and experienced artists with the essential skills and techniques to create expressive and balanced drawings, from basic sketches to detailed compositions. Tonal value is the main focus of the drawing course. Tonal value means how dark or light a color or a shade is. Tonal value is more important than color and it's fundamental in any art project - sketches, drawings, paintings. Through a series of engaging lessons, you will explore various tools, materials, and methods. You will develop a deep understanding of drawing principles, including proportion, perspective, shading, and composition. During this course, you will create realistic and professional-quality artwork. Mastering these fundamental concepts will prepare you to explore advanced artistic endeavors and achieve your creative goals. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation: No refunds! Art credit is available for the next classes/camps. Late registrations are accepted. Art classes - you can join us any time and pay for the remaining classes or have make-up classes. If you miss a class during a session, you'll have a make-up class. Art camps - you can register during an art camp week for the remaining day(s) or half-day(s). If minimum participant numbers have not been reached by 1 week before the start of Art classes/camp, you will be notified and Art classes/camp will need to be canceled. You will get a refund or you may transfer your payment to other classes/camps.
